In Memory
Gary Woodcock
On the morning of February15, 2023, Gary Woodcock lost his courageous multi-year battle with cancer. Gary was an exceptional engineer, an inspiring leader and a close personal friend to us all. He fought his illness with incredible bravery and tenacity until the very end and we will all miss him greatly.
Gary was an exceptional individual with an amazing abundance of talents and interests. He was a founding member of Apple’s QuickTime AV technology team; a ground-breaking program that led the personal computer industry into the multimedia age and one that is absolutely foundational to many current Apple technologies. Gary was a true pioneer who contributed in many different fields; ranging from digital video to cybersecurity to quantum photonics. We at Anametric have been the beneficiary of his inventiveness and his passion for excellence in engineering since the very beginning. He joined us from Rubicon Labs, where he helped to advance the state of the art in IoT cybersecurity and left us with numerous Anametric patented and patent-pending technologies that we will use to push the envelope in many directions.
But Gary was not just an outstanding engineer; he was a multi-dimensional human being, whose incredible compassion for others was quite literally the stuff of legend. Gary gave back on every possible occasion and his volunteering and organizational efforts left the Austin TX music community a much richer and more interesting place.
Rest in Peace Gary Woodcock; you have earned our undying respect and sincere gratitude.
